Instant EcoVilla High-Performance, Energy Efficient Homes

What is a High-Performance Home?

The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 defined a High Performance Building as: "A building that integrates and optimizes on a life cycle basis all major high performance attributes, including energy conservation, environment, safety, security, durability, accessibility, cost-benefit, productivity, sustainability, functionality, and operational considerations." For a home to be considered a High-Performance Home it must meet or exceed specific Green Building criteria and standards. The home’s performance must exceed that of conventional homes by no less than a specified amount. A High-Performance Home is designed and constructed using proven Building Science Principles that utilize a "Whole-House Systems Approach" which considers the house as an energy system with interdependent parts, each of which affects the performance of the entire system. Instant EcoVilla Insulated, Unitized Composite Structures: High-Performance Structural and Thermal Envelope

Instant EcoVillas are constructed with our Insulated, Unitized "Fiber-Reinforced" Composite Structures Technology. The high-strength "fiber-reinforced" composite and rigid polyurethane foam insulation structure forms a weather resistant, continuous thermal envelope. The thickness of the wall, floor and roof assemblies can be engineered to meet varying R-Value specifications. A High-Performance Thermal Envelope ensures both high-efficiency and less wasted energy, along with enhanced comfort, reduce sound transmission, and long-term durability. Prosoco R-Guard Air and Weather Resistant Barrier Systems: High-Performance Air + Weather Resistant Building Envelope

An air tight building is an energy efficient building. That’s why buildings that meet the world’s toughest energy efficiency requirements use PROSOCO's R-Guard Cat 5 air and weather barrier products. Controlling the leakage of air and water is fundamental to designing an energy efficient building. Performance tested and proven to withstand extreme weather conditions, R-Guard Cat 5 protected buildings are more durable, resilient and sustainable. The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index is the industry standard by which a home's energy efficiency is measured. It’s also the nationally recognized system for inspecting and calculating a home's energy performance. A HERS Index Score can tell you so much about a home you are thinking of buying. Heating, cooling and water heating constitute the largest cost of homeownership outside of the mortgage loan. The HERS Index Score will tell you how well the home performs energy-wise. The HERS Report will outline the energy features of the home and the expected cost of utility bills. (Visit HERS Index Website) (Understanding the HERS Index) (Watch Ask for The HERS Index Video)

Instant EcoVilla High-Performance Homes: DOE Zero Energy Ready Home Standards and Guildlines

There are many different energy efficient, green home standards and certification programs available to home builders and home owners. Instant EcoVilla has decided to follow the Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Home Program because our engineers were confident that the standards and guidelines in the DOE ZERH Program offered the highest levels of energy savings, comfort, health, durability, quality and future home performance for Instant EcoVilla owners. (View DOE ZERH...A Symbol of Excellence) (Visit DOE ZERH Website)

The US Department of Energy has defined 7 Interdependent House Systems, with specific standards and guidelines, that are mandatory for a home to be certified as a High-Performance Zero Energy Ready Home. (View ZERH Homeowner Manual) (Visit Building Science-to-Sales)
